PostSubject: Re: Shall we Parlay?   Shall we Parlay? - Page 6 EmptyTue Apr 17, 2012 11:25 am

Finally managed to get my job for the holidays back! Yay! *dances* Will be good to finally have some money and be able to get out of over-draft. Seeing as it's a night-job, I won't be able to role-play during (my) evenings because my phone is dumb and I can't reply to the topics off it Sad Will miss everyone very much!

But at least that's not for another day. I still have an evening and morning to role-play my heart out. So rp it out I shall! Very Happy

Also, if anyone needs either me or any other character of mine in a topic, just message me. I have some trouble keeping up with all the forums and the topics I'm supposed to be keeping up with in each. So yeah, if you need me then pm's are your friend Smile

Btw, am on my phone for a moment because I can't really sleep bug I should.... Sad

Oh right I remember you posted about it on Miami. I know it should but in truth it's not too 'smart' despite qwerty keyboard. I actually once considered to whine my mom into buying it for me since my fingers are falling off my hand from using regular buttons. But I'm sure if I had it I'd made it to take all internet types I throw at it. Like I did with my other 'dumb' ones.
Did you try my advice on 'internetising' it (I remember I gave you tips about it back then)?

haha, yah, I think you did, but actually, since I don't really use it for internet I can live with it the way it is Wink It's just when I am too lazy to turn on my computer or just wanna check something. Normally I'm on my laptop and I don't have an internet flatrate for my cell, so I don't use mobile internet... Though it works way better than my old phone Wink

Oh ok. Sadly phones are my only internet option at home since my cousin's old win98 can't take modem internet and cable net is too fancy for it.

But I'll be glad for even tiniest bit of laptop right now.

Oh yeah and pretty much... Actually with me things happen. I tend to get things century late lol. Like I got cellphone when everyone else already had it, got cassette player when everyone else already had cd players, got ancient stereo system when everyone else shared boosted up latest fancy technology, got dvd player when everyone else considered fancier tech, got really ancient pc when everyone else are already owning latest magic... etc etc...

I purpose I'll get my first decent smartphone when everyone else will own 3D holographic ones... And my own laptop when others will be either havin' 3D or holographic touch enhanced virtual tablets and smart tables, or those magic glasses, or something like they had in movie Gamer...

hehe Wink but don't worry, sometimes the latest technologies aren't always the best or better. I have my computer for about 8 years at least, sure slowly things start to not working anymore because they're simply to much used, but those can be replaced and the old thing works just fine again Wink though am planning on buying some better parts for my computer and set it up totally new on the inside.... but it's too expensive for me right now Sad

True. I wish I could've replaced my favourite phone's insides. Or that other phone's parts, it's almost dead but I like it because it bears better camera and comfier buttons.
Sadly I didn't know the rules for getting factory replacement sooner. I'd gotten new one years ago. Now I know the rules, though bit too late. Next time I promise to keep an eye out for phone troubles before warranty's over.

Eh I'd bought a computer myself when I worked summers, but back then I had no idea about that piece of technology and asked for advice to the wrong person, who told me not to buy it. Now I realise that I should've listened to my hunch. If I had then by now I'd gotten external hhd and better battery for it.
But right now I'm praying for luck to win galaxy tablet in lottery. Even though I know I will never win it (been trying win computers/phones for tired years already) I'm still keep hoping.

well, sometimes it seems one has to go his or her own way to do the right thing and not care what others say... I had my big brother with me when I bought my laptop though I only bought because I needed it badly for my studies, yet I had to borrow the money for it from my family... maybe I would've bought another one if I had enough time to choose....

So true. And right now I'm really regretting my mistake of not buying it while I had enough money.
I will need pc for studies and I won't be able to buy it now.
But I've learned my lesson now and will be strictly following my own hunches and instincts.

I know the feeling. I still kinda owe my mom for buying me first phone. She had to take overdraft and still hasn't paid it back so is constantly in debt. It's not relatively large sum of money but big enough for me wanting to pay back.

well, I wasn't that lucky with my laptop either. Had lots of troubles with it... Even gave it back once because certain things didn't work properly, but now I'm living with the way it is. Got no other choice anyways...

Okay... So I'm making it official now... Am heading off to sleep now. It's early for me I know, but I'm just too tired now to stay up. But that only means I'll be back sooner. And to Yules, if she reads this... Can you leave some replies for me please? *puppy eyes*

Yeah same goes for me. Gotta get working mouse and then try to squeeze some life into 'Frank' (no kidding, I really named that old bones like that lol). Only if I'd get my friend into borrowing her mouse for week.

Hope you had good dreams.

It's official now. My old school is haunting me in my dreams and looks like Alex O'Loughlin does it too (according to few bits and pieces I remember) *rolls eyes*

woah... you got troubles getting a mouse for a week? I though those were cheap to buy these days... I'm even thinking about buying a "special" wireless mouse for my laptop and use the USB one I have now on my computer then... They're rather cheap over here...

ouch... old school haunting your dreams? Doesn't sound like fun? Alex O'Loughlin though.... I think those could be good dreams Wink

Well for particulary ancient pc like it is with only one USB hole and no drivers running properly... They aren't too expensive, but still without a penny in pocket I can't buy. So still hoping to borrow mouse from my friend when I can get a spot at table at monitor (tight space in the room). It still has the old fashioned plugs for mouse and keys. Which means I can't buy it at store. So it's either no mouse or no external devices. But I'd love to get monitor with USB holes to get all my external stuff plugged. Though I doubt anything will work with that oldie.
Even laptop that age would be better than that biggie. I can't carry that anywhere so I gotta get decent laptop with wireless net so I'd be able to camp out at library or steal connection from neighbours.

Haha. Yeah it does it rather often. Usually my PE teacher is the one I see in my dreams about school.
Actually my dreams are kinda like it was in Inception movie. The places I know but only different. Like my first school but with different yard or some classrooms. I mostly see first school with both schools teachers and classmates mixed together.

Hmm... what it was? Oh right, couple nights ago I was on lookout for Jane with some familiar faces and I think Lisbon. It was fun actually, leaping through empty hallways around the building. Lol I even went to places I never went too much haha.
But then the next 'episode' started with Alex and then I was kinda snooping around school and yard with him. That was actually awesome. And last night we were smoking outside, sitting on stairs. And then again snooping around sports hall either looking for someone or just walking around.

Nonsense. I know. I think it'll turn into story one day. Like my other dream which is partially written (first chapter plus prologue), but I'm not writing it now since there's so much text and the thought of typing it all on some pc just makes my fingers more stiff than they already are.

Oh... I get your troubles with drivers not working properly.... had some troubles even with my new laptop, which was the reason I had to give it back to the store and pay a bill, because there was some... 'change' in the operating system, appearently though, it couldn't be because of me, because I hadn't touched it... but oh well.... At least it works now. For now. We'll see about the future. Never buy a computer without the original CD of the system it's using... Least that's what I learned from that....

As for the mouse... well, this those old plugs, it's true, you can't just buy any mouse, especially USB, unless you have an adapter from the new USB to the old (PS2 I guess) plug. That should work just fine, if you consider that as an option for the future Smile I had to buy a new mouse because I didn't have USB mouse, just old PS2 plugs and I couldn't use it on my laptop... thankfully I can get 'used' mouses from my brother-in-law sometimes.

oh... I've started a second original Crime Story (posted the Prologue on FictionPress.com and my Miami forum some time ago), but I just don't have the time to write, plus I am currently left by my muse, meaning I can't write anyways. If I do, I just don't like the result and end up re-writing it so I just spare that and write when I'm actually in the mood to write and feel like I really want to. (Have the best ideas then Wink) Though the main outline for the story is written up and lying on my desk somewhere (safely tugged away) Smile But I've got more important stuff to do....

Oh yes. That's pure hell if you don't have drivers. Had that with friend's mom's laptop that was having not only dead battery (never buy Fujitsu-Siemens laptops, batteries die after barely two months use, if not then definately smth else will get broken) and messed up operating system. Had to use installation disk for system recovery ten times before her mom had to return it to its 'owner'.
Btw she bought her current laptop without installation cd. I've promised myself to make sure it's there when I'm buying my own thing.

Yeah guess the same plug. Though decided it's not worth my mom's money. I'll better get regular usb mouse so I can use it on my future laptop without a hitch. Most of simple mouses are compatible with windows '98 and should not cause problems. Besides I found my mp3 player has installation cd for old windows, and friend gave her mom's driver CD's for that old Windows.
Guess should be fine if I finally decide to get my hands on it.

Ah... You're not only whose muse is left the building. My dear still hasn't returned and dunno when it will. I started 'original' fic on one site where I could post from my phone but couldn't get more than prologue part. Guess I shall put it up on Miami or somewhere one day.

oh that sounds kinda like me.... Mostly I guess you don't get the original system installation CDs with your laptop... least I haven't seen one with it yet. Only that recovery DVD that I had to create myself and since the system had a bug in there somewhere since the day I got it, I had that 'bug' on my recovery DVD too... so much for that thing shall help... but well, I'm glad I have my laptop otherwise I'd be without internet and computer lately and it would totally suck.

Totally agree. Without those CDs it's harder to fix minor problems unless, like you, one hasn't got some other option.
Well I'll try buying one with installation CD or I'll download Linux one for free (as I've read it's possible).

I so understand life without computer and internet.
If I could live in peace with simple mobile phone's internet couple years ago, now I need more fancy gadgets and technologies. Besides if I'm into school laptop will be must-be thing number one knowing how busy are public internet access points (either libraries or caffes).
