skills and talents - wraps men around her finger in no time, is an excellent thief (breaking and entering)
personality
Throughout her teenage years, Ella has always been rebellious. She was always one to go up against rules, fight about their need and logic and usually breaking them. She became especially interested in Pirates back then, secretly loved to dress as such, but always got into a lot of trouble with her parents if she was caught wearing her favourite pirate outfit. Mainly because her parents thought she looked like a wench in that outfit. Ella simply thought she looked beautiful. She looked more like woman and she liked that. So, the young woman was never shy about her female looks and about making herself look beautiful, a little daring even, because she wanted to be noticed. Usually that worked just well in the little town in Yorkshire. But only if her father wasn't around. She knows how to wrap men around her finger and how to please them. She likes to flirt and use her sexuality for her own purposes. Of course people talk a lot, especially since nobody knows how far Ella actually goes with men. They don't know whether or not she still is a virgin, but most people who talk about her, say that the way she behaves, she's a wench, there to please men, so she probably lost her innocence already. Only Ella knows whether that is true. Ella does have a sweet and charming side, though. She can be really nice, caring and even proper if she wants to be. She likes a good conversation and someone who actually respects her wishes and her thoughts, as modern as they may be. Because even though she is a bad girl, a reblel, she is actually quite smart for being a woman in her time.
history
Ella is the middle child of five to parents John and Luise Ainsworth. Originally she was born and raised in Scarborough, Yorkshire. They used to live in a small house close to the habour, her father being a Merchant, the family actually did quite well. Even though he was travelling quite a lot, to get his business running and bring home the money. Her mother was home most of the time, taking care of the five children: Mary Suzanne, Rosetta Luise, Ella Roxanne, and the twins Thomas Arthur and Robert John. Mary, Rosetta and Ella were born each two years apart, whereas the twins followed when Ella was already four years old.
The children had a quite happy childhood. The girls got along pretty well, did things like sewing and knitting together. They had to help out in the house as soon as they were old enough to do so. But they were allowed to be children for quite a long time actually. The first tasks were given to them when Mary was 5 years old. Of course, being the oldest she had to be a role model. Yet Ella had always had her own mind. She liked doing things her way and didn't become like her sisters at all. That became more obvious as the girls reached their teens and became interested in boys. Ella would spend a lot of time down at the habour, watching ships and the people there. She became interested in pirate stories and sometimes even talked to the wenches who had contact with so many different people. Proper people always tried to get her away from them, even telling her parents about it, so she wasn't allowed near the habour anymore. Ella went down there anyway.
She'd always get into trouble, especially since she started to become more and more aware of her sexuality and her beauty. And she learned how to use it to get what she wanted from others. Them mostly being men. It was a huge drama at home when her parents found out. By that time Ella was already 16. So, with all the money that they'd saved and with the help of other parts of the family, her parents sent her off to St. Trinian's School for Young Ladies to go there for the next two years. They'd hoped that once Ella returned home, the young woman would be different, cured from her love of pirates and all the sins that townsfolk talked about her committing. But things didn't change at all.
So, when Ella returned home to Scarborough, still being the same rebellious bad girl that she had been before, her father decided to marry her off to some rich guy. Not wanting to be married to someone she didn't even know and feeling betrayed by her family, Ella packed her things and left Scarborough. Somehow she managed to get to London where she manages to get by somehow. Mostly breaking into rich people's houses and according to townsfolk there... being a whore. Nobody knows if that actually is true though.
